Hyderabad's rental market is shaped by its booming IT sector concentrated in HITEC City, Gachibowli and Madhapur, collectively the city's western tech corridor. The city also hosts major institutions including the University of Hyderabad, IIIT Hyderabad, ISB and Osmania University. Hyderabad's relatively low cost of living compared to Bengaluru and Mumbai has attracted a large migrant workforce, making PGs and co-living spaces a active market especially in the western suburbs. PG rents in Hyderabad are considerably lower than Bengaluru or Mumbai. The western tech corridor (Madhapur-HITEC City-Gachibowli) commands the highest rents, while areas like Kukatpally, Miyapur and the old city offer sizeable savings. The Hyderabad Metro connects Miyapur to LB Nagar via Ameerpet, and areas along this route are increasingly popular. Food culture is a genuine differentiator, Hyderabad's biryani and street food scene means meal-included PGs compete with excellent and reasonably priced eating-out options. Comparing the exact locality relative to your office is key, as the city is spread out and traffic patterns vary dramatically between the old city and the western tech belt.

Visit after dark, check CCTV, a resident warden, visitor policy and the walk from the stop or station before paying a deposit. For a shared double room with meals, start with Kondapur, Kukatpally and Dilsukhnagar (₹5,000–₹8,000); Tarnaka for Osmania University and Gachibowli for University of Hyderabad is the relevant student reference.
