Ahmedabad is Gujarat's largest city and a major draw for education, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and the growing IT sector. Institutions like IIM Ahmedabad, Gujarat University, CEPT, NID, and numerous engineering colleges draw students from across western India. The city's industrial estates in Naroda, Vatva, and Sanand, along with the GIFT City financial hub near Gandhinagar, create diverse employment that drives PG and hostel demand. Ahmedabad's PG market is largely concentrated on the western side of the city, from Navrangpura near the university to the SG Highway–Bopal corridor. Rents are lower than Mumbai or Pune, and vegetarian meals are standard in most PGs. The BRTS bus system and the under-construction metro are improving access, but choosing an area close to your campus or workplace still saves sizeable daily travel time.
