Vijay Nagar is Indore's most popular student zone, packed with PGs, hostels, coaching centres, restaurants, and cafés. Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) and several private colleges are nearby. The area is energetic and walkable, with everything a student needs within a small radius. Rents are higher than Indore's average, but the convenience is hard to match. Late-night food joints and bookstores target the round-the-clock student lifestyle that defines Vijay Nagar's character.

Rau is a developing town on Indore's southern fringe, near IIT Indore and several engineering colleges on the Rau-Pithampur road. It has seen rapid growth in PGs and student accommodation as campuses have expanded. Rents are among Indore's lowest. The trade-off is limited urban comforts and a semi-rural character that's gradually urbanising, with new restaurants, gyms, and grocery stores opening regularly to serve the growing student and faculty population.

Palasia is a central commercial centre in Indore with offices, banks, showrooms, and restaurants along its main stretch. It draws working professionals and young entrepreneurs who want a central address. PGs here are mid-range, and the area offers excellent access to all parts of the city. The RNT Marg nearby is one of Indore's busiest commercial arteries, and the area's street-food scene (poha, jalebi, and sabudana khichdi stalls) is part of daily life.

Bhanwar Kuwa is a central Indore commercial area near the Rajwada palace and Sarafa Bazaar, at the intersection of MG Road and AB Road. It is one of the busiest junctions in the city.

Pipliya Rao is a developing area on the AB Road bypass in south Indore, near Super Corridor and IIM Indore. The area has seen rapid growth with new residential colonies and commercial strips.

New Palasia is a mixed residential-commercial area adjacent to the main Palasia stretch. It has more residential lanes than Palasia proper, which keeps it slightly quieter while still centrally located. PG demand comes from office workers and students at nearby coaching centres. Eating places are numerous, from street stalls to sit-down restaurants. Several medical and dental clinics along the main road make healthcare accessible without travelling far.

Old Palasia retains a more traditional character than its newer counterpart, with older houses, temples, and neighbourhood shops. PGs here are basic and inexpensive. The area suits students and workers who want central proximity without the commercial bustle of the main Palasia road. Narrow lanes and older construction give Old Palasia a quieter, more residential feel, and the local chai stalls are gathering points for the neighbourhood's long-time residents.

Manoramaganj is a commercial area adjacent to Palasia, with offices, coaching centres, and retail shops. PGs serve office workers and students preparing for competitive exams. The area is centrally located with good auto and bus transit access. Rents are moderate, sitting between Vijay Nagar and the older neighbourhoods. The Manoramaganj flyover is a key traffic junction, and the surrounding lanes host several popular Indori snack shops known for garadu and bhutte ki kees.
