Chembur is a settled eastern suburb with a strong residential identity, local markets and the Diamond Garden recreational area. The Harbour Line and upcoming metro extensions serve the area. RCF colony and BARC are nearby, adding institutional residents. PG rents are moderate, and the area attracts professionals working in Chembur's refineries, BARC or commuting to BKC and south Mumbai. Chembur has good food choices, its Sindhi and south Indian restaurants are locally famous.
