Mota Varachha is an extension of the Varachha diamond belt, with a similar industrial character but newer residential construction alongside the workshops. PG picks are even more low-cost than central Varachha, drawing diamond workers and textile employees who don't mind the distance from Surat's upscale western side. BRTS access has improved access to Athwa and the city centre. New apartment buildings are gradually changing parts of the skyline, and small malls and branded stores have begun appearing along the main roads.
