Gajuwaka is the industrial and commercial district of north Vizag, close to the Vizag Steel Plant and the port. The area is self-sufficient for daily needs, with hospitals, schools, and bus transport links to the city centre.

One Town is the historic commercial core of Vizag, centred around the old port area and the city's original market streets. It has a dense, hectic character with wholesale markets, textile shops, jewellery stores, and small businesses. PG demand comes from shop workers, wholesale traders, and small-business employees. Rents are low, but the area is congested with an old-city character that feels different from the modern northern suburbs.

MVP Colony (Maddilapalem–Venkojipalem) is a developed residential area in central Vizag, home to schools, parks, and the MVP Double Road commercial stretch. It is popular with middle-class families and professionals who value a settled, self-sufficient neighbourhood. PGs here offer a central location with moderate rents, convenient for those working in the city centre or along Beach Road. The area has a community-oriented character with neighbourhood events and active resident associations.

Simhachalam is known for the famous Simhachalam Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple on the hilltop, but the surrounding area is also a growing residential zone north-west of the city centre. It attracts families and workers in the nearby industrial areas. PG places are reasonably priced, and the area has a distinct semi-urban character with temple-town activity mixed into daily life. Transit access to the city centre is via the main Simhachalam road, with regular bus and auto services.

Dwaraka Nagar is a busy commercial and residential area near the centre of Vizag, with hospitals, shops, coaching centres, and offices along the main road. PG demand comes from working professionals and students who need a linked by metro and bus, service-rich base. The area is well-served by city buses and auto-rickshaws, with rents in the mid-range. Dwaraka Nagar's commercial density means daily essentials and entertainment are always within walking distance.

Kurmannapalem is a residential and semi-industrial area near the Vizag Steel Plant, where Steel Plant employees, contract workers, and their families form a sizeable part of the population. PG rents are among the lowest in Vizag, reflecting the area's distance from the city centre. The area is practical for anyone working at or near the Steel Plant, with local markets and eateries serving daily needs. The commute to central Vizag, however, takes 40+ minutes.

Hanumanthawaka is a compact residential area near the MVP Colony and Kancharapalem sides of the city. It has a neighbourhood-market character with basic services and a dense, lived-in feel. PG demand is moderate, driven by local workers, students, and small-business employees. Rents are among the more inexpensive picks in the central Vizag belt, which keeps it a practical choice for budget-conscious tenants who need reasonable city-centre access.

Madhurawada is Vizag's emerging IT and residential growth corridor on the northern side of the city. GITAM University, Millennium Towers, and several tech companies are based here, driving strong PG demand from IT workers and university students. The area has newer construction, moderate rents, and an expanding number of restaurants, supermarkets, and services. As the IT corridor grows, Madhurawada is becoming Vizag's answer to Bengaluru's Whitefield or Hyderabad's Madhapur.
